Overview

California's standardized testing system, known as the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), measures how well students are meeting the state’s academic standards in subjects like English language arts, mathematics, and science. Administered annually to students in grades 3–8, these tests are designed to provide insights into student learning, support school accountability, and guide improvements in teaching.
