Vista Del Mar Union School District Board of Trustees appointed Bree Valla as Superintendent/Principal on July 28,2022.

Dear Vista Community,

Trusting us to educate, protect and serve your children during the school day is a tremendous honor and one that I know the entire Vista team takes very seriously. As your new Superintendent/ Principal, I look forward to meeting you all and getting to know you and your children so that we can continue to tailor the Vista experience to meet your needs.

I originally am from Santa Paula, where I attended a K-8 school that had 100 students. The experience of attending a small school like I did and like Vista is unique and provides an incredible foundation for the future.

A little about me, I attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo after high school and majored in Animal Science with an Ag Ed concentration. I also received my Masters in Agriculture from Cal Poly. I have been an Agriculture teacher, Math/Science teacher, Instructional Coach, Principal, Director, Assistant Superintendent, and most recently Deputy Superintendent.

Outside of work, I have 2 teenaged children. They are involved in sports and raise livestock for 4-H. My husband is a multi-generational Lompoc native and farms along Highway 1. We were joking that we now have a similar commute!

I am excited to continue the great work at Vista where we embrace “learning for life” and create unique learning experiences and opportunities for children.
